Howdy Week

We have started week 2 of school. Dalton and Dyson have started Mothers Day Out as well. I am enjoying quiet days at the house once again. If Fall would hurry up and get here I would be super happy.

Monday- Say Howdy to old friends and new friends. Wear your cowboy boots, hats and bandanas.

Tuesday - Crazy Hat Day. Alison also got to wear her scout uniform for Girl Scout Recruiting. Patrick wore his Aggie Cap and ran off, he did not want to be seen with a bunch of Brownies.

Dalton on his first day of school. He is getting so big.

God and Country

This summer Craig and I taught a class for scouts at our church. Patrick and Alison have both completed the requirements and can now wear the patch and badge on their scout uniforms. We are very proud of both of them.

God and Country is a program produced by an organization called Programs of Religious Activities with Youth (P.R.A.Y.) PRAY is a not-for-profit organization whose national board of directors includes representatives from Protestant and Independent Christian Churches and the national youth agencies.P.R.A.Y. is authorized by all the major scouting organizations in the US to provide this training for their youth and acknowledges the awards and medals earned by those youth as an essential and integral part of the Scouting/Campfire/Heritage Girls experience.

First Day Of School 2010

YEAH! This summer has been crazy with Craig home as well as the kids. It is nice to have everyone back where they belong. Craig has started his new job and as of today my kids have gone back to school. One more week until Dyson and Dalton with start Mother's Day Out. Roxie and I can't wait for quiet patio mornings and a chance to get housework done with out the kids tearing it all up behind me.

Before school pictures, Alison is ready to go, Patrick is clinging on to summer.

Alison was very excited about second grade. Her teacher this year is Mrs. Goodwyn. She has a top locker, I don't think she can even reach the hooks. She was glad to find that a few of her Girl Scout buddies are in her homeroom.

Alison, Anne-Claire, Chloe and Mrs. Hart the counselor.

Patrick is starting the 5th grade this year.  He was pretty excited that he was getting one of the new teachers at the school and that the teacher was a male. His teachers name is Mr. Bolton. There were at least 6 of Patrick's Cub Scout friends in his class.

Moms Runaway Weekend

A couple of girlfriends and I took off for the last weekend of the summer. Amanda's sister was nice enough to let us crash at her house. It was very nice to go on a trip with out any kids. We were able to travel at our own pace and stop at shops that had breakable items. Even though there were four of us in the car, there was no arguing or fighting.

San Marcos was very relaxing, we had tons of fun floating on the river. It was neat hanging out in a college town.

I will have more pictures once we get the disposable cameras developed.

Bloody nose, Sleep issues and 911, all in one night.

Patrick came into my room at midnight saying he had a bloody nose. I went back to his room with him and turned on the light, he had a supper bad nosebleed in his sleep. This in itself is not unusual, he has frequent nosebleeds due to asthma and medicines he is on. There was blood everywhere. All over his white pajama top, bed, pillow, floor, bathroom door, carpet, sink, tub you name it. He had tried to clean it up a little in his sleep groggy state.
I cleaned him up and sent him back to bed after covering it with towels. He did not change his PJ's.

Craig got up around 1 to check on him. He came back into the bedroom asking where Patrick was. The hunt began, we checked his room, the closet, the kitchen yelling out,  all lights on in the house are on now. Our house is not that big. Ali hears us and starts crying, Craig and I are panicking, Craig checked the garage and cars. We could not find him anywhere and he was not answering us.

I put Ali on my bed and call 911. Craig is now rechecking every closet room and cabinet. The windows and doors are all locked. I am explaining to the dispatcher what the problem is and what Patrick was last seen wearing. When I was describing what Patrick was wearing... Bloody white pajama top, Aggie pants and no shoes... All I could think of is the police coming to help us look and finding all of the blood and arresting us. Not to mention finding Patrick in his blood soaked pajamas with dried blood in his hair.

Alison was listening to me when she felt our bed move. That crazy kid had crawled under our bed between our luggage and fallen asleep. 911 has a great tape of a panicky mother, and then Alison yelling that Patrick had been found. They kept asking if I was OK, and if they needed to send a police car over anyway. Craig and I were so worked up that we could not go back to bed and I was not sure the police weren't going to come over just in case.

For those of you wondering, no I did not take any pictures. I have no experience taking pictures of crime scenes. I am sleep deprived enough, that I may go tape off his room and bathroom with yellow curling ribbon until I have time to clean up the rest of the blood. I hope that the kids (plus my extra nephews) operate on slow motion today, because I sure am.

Baseball

I won tickets for the family to go see the McKinney Marshals. We had tons of fun in the small ballpark. They are a team made up of College age guys looking for a break. The park was small and uncrowded so we had great seats. At the end of each inning there was a contest or activity for the kids on the field. Patrick and Alison were able to explore a bit on their own while Craig and I watched the game. They were partners in the water balloon toss, and they both ran around the infield after the 7th inning.

I love watching them pray before the game.

Ali and Patrick with Wyatt the Mascot. The shade was great for seating, not so great for the pictures.

Water Balloon game. Patrick is wearing his Aggie cap, Ali is wearing a pink one of course.
