Patrick Strikes Again

REALLY, I am at wits end with him. This morning while I was fixing coffee for Craig, I noticed that the cabinet door to my baking supplies was opened a bit, when I went to shut it, I noticed SPRINKLES of every color imaginable on the microwave, and counter tops.

Then just a bit ago when I went to the fridge I notice that the unopened package of Swiss Cheese has been shredded apart in such a way that only my 8 year old would have done it.

I guess I am going to have to follow through on his pediatritians advice and actually lock him into his bedroom at night.

HIgh School Musical

I had a friends girls over and they all played dress up and wanted to watch High School Musical again. It is a cute show, but it is even more fun to watch the girls (and Patrick) dressing up and using the fireplace as a stage.

I even got a video, so I am going to give it a shot and see if I can upload it here.

Wish me luck.

School So far

The kids are both loving it so far. The new school is just awesome.

Alison got to bring her bear. "Giggle Bear" and all of the other bears are going to have a sleep over at the school this week. I got pictures of Ali taking her to class.

Patrick has found his spot in the new school too. He has joined the after school art club that meets each week. The Choir Club, that meets before school each week and today he starts the Beach Club, which is an after school Bible Study/Church Group. All of this in addition to Cub Scouts and Karate.
(Ali is in Karate too, and she will start Girlscouts this year.) I am one busy mom hauling them to and fro.

We just got back from another camping trip. We had tons of fun, lots of friends and great food. The weather was just awesome. I have a few pictures ready to share from the trip.

Dyson and Hayley came up to join us for the day.

Call from the School Nurse

The nurse called yesterday for me to get Patrick, she said that he threw up and that there was a stomach bug going around.

I went to get him, and Ali too so I did not have to make multiple trips.

Patrick was acting fine and had no fever, but better safe than sorry right?

When we got home Patrick came to me and said that he needed to talk. He then began an outlandish tale about a 3rd grade bully that held him down, broke off an eraser from his pencil and shoved the eraser in Patrick's ear. I just sat there looking at him. (Does he really think I am going to fall for this?)

After staring at him a bit, I told him to rethink his story. Starting with, was there really an eraser in his ear.
Apparently, he was goofing off as usual, and he decided to see what would happen. It went in too far and he panicked. He threw up because he was nervous about getting in trouble.

I called the nurse to see if he told her about the ear, NOPE. She did have a very good laugh at my expense though.

I called the pediatrician, who also laughed at me, and they said to bring him in. So I packed up the kids and went off.

On the way I tried to call my sister to let her know what was up.

Hayley did not call me back until the nurses and the doctor were holding Patrick down trying to get it out. I whispered into the phone that "we were at the doctor because Patrick put an eraser in his ear" but she thought that I said "Dyson disappeared" so she freaked out and kept calling me over and over again.

We finally got it out, and then I decided what the heck, we were all there, let's take care of flu shots. When Ali heard that she started to freak out and hid under the chair crying.

I answered Hayley's call and told her we got the eraser out and that Dyson was not lost. The doctor was still laughing at the hysteria and mayhem. Hayley talked to the doctor, and asked them to give Dyson his shot too.

We finally made it out of there with three ticked off, crying kids. I drove through Burger King for shakes and went home.

All of this over my 8 year old and a flippin eraser. GRRRRR
The tools you need for this kind of adventure.

Girl Scouts

Alison and I went to an Ice Cream Social to find out about Girl Scouts. Alison had lots of fun, she got to make an ice cream sundae, color and meet other girls. The recruiting night at her school will be September 25th. She is very excited. For Kindergarten, it is called Daisies. She will even get a blue uniform.

Labor Day

We had a few friends over for Laborday this year. I had the camera out, but I did not end up with many pictures of my family. We spent the day hanging out and cooking with friends. The kids were all great and kept themselves entertained for the most part, the adults were able to hang out on the patio and visit.
Craig fried chicken wings and there was no shortage of appetizers for anyone. The weather was not unbearably hot and it will only get better as fall arrives.

Alison spent the morning cleaning her room and waiting for her friends to arrive.
Her princesses now have a new perch to watch over her desk and her homework.
Finally people start to arrive.

Our neighbor stopped by from across the street. She was happy to hold baby Carson, but she was not thrilled to pose for the camera.

Dean kept us all entertained with party tricks.Patrick was excited that some of the older boys would play football with him.
Kids and food, we found out later that this was the wrong place to set them up.

I loved this picture of Shawn.
Shawn and Owen being silly.
