Rainy Day at the State Fair

Dad and Heather are showing Zebu at the State Fair again this year. We took the kids up in the rain to see them. Most of the rides and attractions were closed for the weather, but there was still plenty of people watching for me and all of the animal exhibits were open. I did not get my camera out as much as I wanted too. It was just too wet, but I did get a few good pictures.

New Bike for Alison

We have had problems with Alison's old bike. On the last two camp outs, Alison has been unable to ride because of flat tires. We have replaced so many tubes, we even replaced the tire. We have spent more fixing the bike than on the bike itself. Alison has been a huge sport over all of this, but my heart just broke when I saw the tears in her eyes when the bike, complete with new tubes came off of the bike rack with a flat. She did not get to ride it even once on this last trip. Craig and I talked about it and decided that we needed to replace the bike instead of trying to fix it even one more time.

Craig took Alison with him to pick it out. She chose a pink and grey one (of course). She is so proud of it, each time we walk through the garage she has a huge grin as she walks by it.

 

Family Camping - Lake Ray Roberts Isle Du Bois

This past weekend we went camping at Lake Ray Roberts. We decided to try a different section, so we camping at Isle Du Bois. I went up early to claim the sites. As I was driving through the park to find sites I liked I saw this mother deer with 2 fawns. They did not stay still very long for me to get pictures.

The Clone Wars™ Season 3 House Party™

 The kids all brought their Star Wars gear and action figures. House Party sent us a party kit with action figures, puzzles and games for the kids to play with along with a preview DVD of behind the scenes footage of season 3. The kids were very excited to mix Star Wars with camping.

We had great neighbors. They let us walk through their sites to get down to the lake and they took the kids for multiple rides on the jet ski. We loved the chance to sit in the shade and visit with other adults. The kids all mixed in together and had great fun.

Roxie loved racing the jet ski from the shore. She also got a lot of swimming in. She was a very tired pup on the way back home.
