Morning Announcements

After school this Tuesday Patrick told me he could not go to school on Wednesday and that he did not want to talk about it. After coaxing, He finally said that 2 weeks ago he got in trouble in music while they were recording morning announcements. When I asked about it, he said he flashed a peace sign as they were taping and that his classe's recording was playing all of this week and he was afraid the other kids were going to tease him.

I called his teacher and music teacher to get more details. Yes he was goofing around during the taping, but nobody caught it until it was too late. The announcements were going to run as is. Craig and I talked to Patrick about it, He made the choice to goof off. He had to live with it and he was going to school, END OF DISCUSSION.

Wednesday morning when I got to the school, Alison skipped off happily to class and Patrick crawled under the back seat crying refusing to go. After calling Dad, the school nurse and his teacher, we finally got him reluctantly into his class.

Thursday I went in to watch the announcements and to see what the whole fuss was about. While the class was reciting the pledge and singing America the Beautiful, Patrick was fidgeting, making faces and posing with peace signs. He looked like a poster child for a Sugar Overdose.

Mean mommy that I am took a picture or two of the TV to remind him of this episode when he grows up.

In reality, he was not much worse than goofballs you see at sporting events when the camera pans the crowd. He is a ham, he likes to show off. He just needs to figure out that there is a time and a place for these things.

Gearing Up For Camp Holly

Summer is almost here. The kids only have7 days left of school. I have lots of fun stuff planned for the summer. I will have my 2 plus Dyson in addition to Hayden and Owen. I set the Camp Holly Calendar. Set up a blog for the boys to manage and post to. Went out today to buy the Summer Movie Club Passes. I got the tickets for my crew, plus the tickets for two other families.
We will visit a new park each week again. Plus have swim practice and swim team everyday.

Summer: Ready or not, here we come.

Memorial Weekend

We had a fantastic weekend. Saturday I went out with the girls. Sunday we had some friends over for steaks and Dominoes. The adults had a great time and the kids were really well behaved. They got to play on the slip and slide and then watched movies and played the Wii. Monday I took the kids over to a girlfriends house with a pool. We spent the whole day outside and the weather could not have been better.

Monday night we got together with a few neighbors and had tacos and fajitas. I love having great friends with kids close to the same age as ours.

Miniature Cows

My family is now showing Miniature Cows, Zebu. The kids like them and they are definitely something different. My parents and Sister brought them up to Lancaster for a miniature cow show. It was close enough for us to go and see the show.

Kindergarten Spring Program

School is almost over, the kids have been busy and having fun at school. On Friday they had the Kindergarten Spring Program. Craig and I were lucky enough to go up to see it.

Unfortunately Alison, Owen and Jonathan were not standing next to each other so I could not always zoom in as close as I wanted to and still get them all in the picture.

Family Camping - Lake Mineral Wells

We went camping this weekend. We had 5 families on this trip and all started out marvelously. We had a great campsite, although during set up we all mentioned how it would suck if it rained.

About 2:15 in the morning the storm hit. There was tons of lightning rain and wind. We lost one of the three canopies. Of course it was ours, LOL. And every tent had about 3 inches of water in it. I have to say our new tent did a great job through it all, the water came in from the bottom. we were able to get all of our gear on the kids mattresses and the kids and dog got in bed with Craig and I.

I did not get as many pictures as I would have liked. But I did not want to ruin my camera in the rain.
Before the rain.

Saturday am, this is what we woke up to.

We are now in the market for a new canopy.
