Friday afternoon we took advantage of the crazy Texas weather. A few of my friends and their kids met us up at the church parking lot to ride bikes. We took advantage of the fenced in playground to keep Dalton out of the bike paths. It was 72 degrees and gorgeous out, I am glad we got to enjoy it. Starting Tuesday we will have winter again.
We sent the kids off to friends houses last night and spent some time just hanging out. The evening started by having friends over for dinner and then we went to the Granada to see James McMurtry. I did not take my camera so I only took a few pictures with my phone. I think we will have to do this more often.
Jason Eady opened, his band was called away to do the Tonight Show with Hayes Carll, so he performed alone. I think he was still awesome. In fact I may have enjoyed it even more.
Patrick earned his Arrow Of Light Award. The Arrow of Light award is the highest award available to Cub Scouts. Patrick has chosen a Boy Scout Troop and will be Bridging over to Boy Scouts in February.
Scouting has been a huge part of our lives and I imagine that it will continue to be for some time. We have met wonderful and lasting friends over these past five years.
Congratulations Patrick, we are very proud of you.
We had our first snow today. It rained all night long, and started out as a very yucky miserable day. About 10:30 it changes to sleet and quickly turned after that to very fat wet heavy snow. The kids kept trying to get out into the slush, but we were able to hold them back until there was a decent build up for them.
