Blue and Gold

We had our Blue and Gold Ceremony last night and Patrick crossed over to his new Boy Scout Troop.

Patrick joined scouting in 2006. Craig and I were very active his scouting career, serving as Den Leaders and as Camping Chair. In addition to each rank, Patrick earned 33 Sports and Academic Belt Loops and 5 Activity Pins. He also earned the Religious Knot, Leave No Trace Awareness Patch, The Whittling Chip and the World Conservation Patch. He also received Cub Scouts' highest achievement, The Arrow of Light Award.

Sleepover

Alison had a friend over this weekend. Patrick went to Aunt Hayley's to visit. Two girls are very entertaining. They sent the tent up in the back yard, played dress up and danced.
We pulled the tent back inside for the night and they set it up for movies and popcorn. I love the way the made the tent up complete with the animal audience.

After Katelyn left, Alison had a second play date and sleepover with M.

Good Bye Swing Set

The swing set in our back yard has gotten tons of use. Our kids are getting big, swinging on it makes it rock and tip. The kids spend more time climbing to the top and shooting Nerf guns at the kids on the ground. We decided that we would take it down to make more room for running and football. Around the corner Alison and I are going to build a garden. When we plan the bed, both Ali and Patrick will have a section to plant or play in that is their own.

The back yard now has tons of space for Nerf Wars.

Besides who needs a swing set when you still have a stick, a rope and a tree nearby.

Valentines Day

Gammy and Grampy came to visit this past weekend. It was great to see them. They left Valentine Surprises for the kids. All of the gifts were a hit. I am glad that the surprise did not have any more candy. The kids got tons of that at their school parties.

Patrick's impression of the Statue of Liberty.

Snow Day February 2011

The kids had school this past Monday, we have been iced in everyday since. When we went to bed Thursday night the weather was forecasting around an inch of snow. We woke up to over 5 inches.

A boy and his very happy dog.

Lots of the creek was frozen.
 Getting ready to play.

 Gotta love this Texas weather.
