Camping Fun

I love camping with other families. The adults all have someone to talk to, we all keep an eye on the kids. The kids have a blast and there is always somebody to play with.

This trip we had 6 kids. Patrick, Alison, Hayden, Owen, Alexis and Abby.

Spring Break Camping - Lost Maples State Natural Area

For Spring Break we decided to drive a little farther for our Camp out. Friday was early release and we decided to pick the kids up at 9 to get a head start. This trip started with many complications. Craig was traveling for business the entire week before. I took the kids into school and was heading to Sam's for last minute supplies. The school nurse called and told me to come get Alison and take her to the doctor. Alison was going to start the camp out with an ear infection.

I turned around to get her and headed straight for the doctor. We got a prescription and headed home. Craig was ready to start loading the car, in the rain. I got out for Patrick and the shopping while Craig finished loading the car. Traffic was horrible on the drive and the freeway was shut down 3 seperate times for accidents. Our 6 hour trip took over 8 1/2 hours.

As we got closer to the park we saw tons of deer. The kids (and Craig and I) were getting cranky and ready to get there. The rain stopped for us to set the tent up, but is stayed very cloudy and damp. The park was beautiful though and was a nice change of scenery.

I took over 800 pictures, so I am having a hard time choosing which ones to post in the blog.

Meet Chrissa

Alison, PAtrick and I went to the American Girl Store before Patrick's skating lesson today. Alison had three dolls that she was choosing between, after lugging all three boxes around and "talking" to each of the three dolls, she decided to buy Chrissa. We have the Chrissa Movie which she came home to watch. Now her doll is asleep in the new doll bed right beside Alison. She has already decided to save up for Chrissa's pet Llama.

Calling Daddy to tell him about her new doll.

First of Many New Outfits

Alison got some wonderful presents and new outfits for her birthday. The first one she chose to model, came with a matching outfit for her fake American Girl Doll, she has already requested that we order a new one so that the new one will be able to match too.

High School Musical Dance Party

Alison's party was a huge success. The decorations were great (Thank you Aunt Hayley for helping out.) The weather cooperated, so we were able to have the dance floor on the patio. Rachel brought her Karaoke machine and the girls had fun singing to High School Musical and Hannah Montanna.
I got a few pictures, but left most of the photo's to a girl friend, so I will post what i have for now.

Craig and Patrick made Alison a doll bed for her Doll, and we are going to pick out her new American Girl Doll later this week. My very awesome, talented friend C made the bedding for the bed. Thank you so much Alison loves it.

Girl Scouts - Police Station Tour

Saturday was very busy for us. In addition to getting ready for Ali's party, we got to go on a Girl Scout trip to the police station. They had one of the mobile units that are parked in mall parking lots to record activities. The girls thought it was neat to go up in that. A police Cruiser SUV for the girls to climb into. A Fire truck for the girls to explore and an ambulance that they were able to peek into. After that the girls went inside for some safety demonstrations and fingerprinting.
