Hackberry, LA

My Dad had a house lined up in Louisiana to go fishing and invited Craig to go along. We talked about it and decided to take the kids and drive down to visit and fish too. It was nice to get away. Craig thought it was nice to go fishing and actually catch something, our tries at our state parks have been unsuccessful so far. The house was a bit isolated, but very nice.

 Excited, silly boy.

We stopped at the bridge with the casting net for bait.

The "small" Redfish Patrick caught was 24 inches.

Patrick caught this Redfish this weekend. It was 27 inches long and 6 lbs. It was tagged, but the tag was lost in cleaning. Patrick is very proud, he took this picture of it to school today to show to his teacher, class, friends and any random person who would look at it. He plans to hang the picture in his locker. I imagine it is the 11 year old version of a hunting trophy. At one point this weekend he had a four foot alligator gar on his line. That one got away.
