Over the break I went out to see Lake Mineral Wells State Park. It is close enough for a day trip, but we were interested in scoping it out for camping. After a little mishap with the directions, and a detour by some strangers farm and little house where "Deb does Haircuts" we finally made it.
The park was very nice, and they are going through and repaving the roads and expanding each camp site. They said the improvements will be completed by March.
The only downside we found were the trails, we have been spoiled by big paved trails for the kids and bikes, the trails here were wide and extensive, but they are all sand. Very good for hiking, but not for the kids and their bikes.
